Director Indirect Sourcing

What are you going to do?

The Director Indirect Sourcing will be responsible for defining and aligning key procurement strategies with executive leadership. And is directly involved in strategic projects including in-/outsourcing decisions. The scope is global and spans across all categories with special focus on Information Technology, Supply Chain, HR, Consultancy and others.

He or she will benchmark internal practices against the external world and drives transformation via the supply base. And ensures effective use of budgets by challenging budget owners on their procurement requirements and negotiating best value for money.

The Director Indirect Sourcing will lead a high performing procurement team of 3 direct reports and has oversight of an external service provider that provides project based procurement services to Mediq.

Preferably he/she has a background in IT procurement as some of these projects require direct support.

Further responsibilities:

Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Be an integrated business partner to Executive Leadership, understand the business strategy and understand the priorities it sets to sourcing
  • Align short-, mid- and long term sourcing needs, develops an effective sourcing strategy per category. And drive an implementation roadmap to deliver on objectives set. 
  • Further strengthen spend governance within Mediq

Sourcing & Contracting

  • Scout capable suppliers and assess value and strategic fit to Mediq
  • Analyse data, review and present results and potential opportunities and execute tenders following a structured fact based process
  • Award business based on objective, pre-aligned criteria and scoring matrix
  • Contract supplier and address supply-, data privacy and compliance risks
  • Facilitate implementation of the supplier in the Mediq business

Supplier Management & Performance

  • All commercial supplier negotiations and conduct periodic business reviews
  • Review of supplier performance and manage relationships with key suppliers
  • Drive compliance in accordance to legislation and Mediq policies
