Sourcing Excellence Leader

Over the last years Mediq has grown fast organically and inorganically, driven by an aggressive M&A strategy. As the company continues to grow, Mediq seeks to create leverage of scale, skill and best practices in its commercial offering. With our European footprint, Mediq’s Sourcing spans across all geographies with a centralized category team and local sourcing teams. Mediq is on it’s way to build world-class sourcing function across the organization under the leadership of the VP Sourcing and is now building the Sourcing Organization. The Sourcing Excellence Leader will have the opportunity to take part in this exciting journey and shape the future of sourcing at Mediq. In this role you will be part of the global team and report directly to the VP Sourcing.

What are you going to do?

The Sourcing Excellence Leader is responsible for an “excellent” infrastructure to conduct sourcing. And acts as a PMO for improvement initiatives in this area. He or she designs, aligns and documents the right processes and procedures, suggest methodologies and tools, manages compliance and participates in audits. In order to support that he/she considers the implementation and usage of relevant sourcing systems and co-develops a roadmap for digitalization. He or she is also responsible for maintaining and adjusting the supplier relationship management approach. On the analytical site he/she is further developing the reporting and tracking systems across the group. Additionally, he/she drives the development and implementation of a training approach within sourcing. Furthermore he/she has to ensure that all tools are provided on the right template as well as providing contract templates.

Essential for the role is being able to work in a cross functional international matrix environment, converge deviating views to an aligned set of priorities and requirements. This requires excellent stakeholder management skills and a positive can-do mentality.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Process Owner for sourcing

  • Define, review, document and assess sourcing processes, procedures, methodologies and tools.
  • Introduce best practices across BUs in line with company standards
  • Review and adjust templates and tools periodically

PMO for improvement project

  • Project Manage projects and initiatives regarding processes, tools, systems, policies and templates
  • Lead (virtual) project team to deliver according to timeline, quality and budget
  • Track progress and communicate to the sourcing community
  • Flag risks and initiate corrective action

Co-develop system landscape

  • Develop and update roadmap for digitalization in cooperation with IT
  • Select and administrate system landscape for e-sourcing, contract management, SRM and data sharing processes with suppliers
  • Build and maintain knowledge sharing system

Own SRM policy

  • Define supplier classification and document a differentiated supplier management approach for this classification
  • Drive classification of suppliers and periodically review the classification
  • Track implementation, flag gaps and initiate corrective actions with accountable supplier account manager

Drive competence building in Sourcing

  • Define a competence development framework for sourcing
  • Develop and (conduct) training for sourcing employees
  • Support onboarding of new employees

Track and drive compliance

  • Monitor compliance with Mediq policies, regulations and laws across supplier portfolio. Flag incompliance and drive corrective action.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal/external audits
  • Manage supplier CSR policy, drive implementation and compliance

What is your background?

Functional skills & Expertise

  • Project Management experience in a multi-national and cross functional environment
  • Vast knowledge and experience in procurement/sourcing principles, methodologies, processes and tools
  • Knowledge of IT landscape, state-of the-art e-procurement tools, systems and solutions
  • Ability to drive and manage innovation and change processes and make it “happen”
  • Ability to be persuade, negotiate, collaborate, communicate with individuals/ stakeholders/governing bodies etc. throughout the company at all levels
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in written with all external parties, e.g., stakeholders, vendors, in a target-oriented, clear, precise and representative manner
  • Skills in relevant MS Office tools

Education & Experience

  • Master degree
  • More than 8 years of functional and industry-relevant working experience
  • Relevant certificates are desirable
  • Experience in mid-size/large multinational companies with a matrix organization
